Stop/Start System

If equipped, the Stop/Start system will shut off the engine to help conserve fuel. It has components designed for the increased number of starts.

When the brakes are applied and the vehicle is at a complete stop, the engine may turn off. When stopped, the tachometer displays AUTO STOP. See Tachometer. When the brake pedal is released or the accelerator pedal is pressed, the engine will restart. See Stop/Start System.

Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) System

The Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitter may be used to lock and unlock the doors from up to 60m (197 ft) away from the vehicle.

Press the key release button near the bottom of the RKE transmitter to remove the key. Never pull the key out without pressing the button. The key can be used for the driver door.

GMC Terrain. Stop/Start System and Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) System : Press to unlock the driver door or all doors depending on the vehicle personalization settings.

Lock and unlock feedback can be personalized.

Press and hold GMC Terrain. Stop/Start System and Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) System for three seconds to sound the panic alarm. Press again to cancel the panic alarm.

GMC Terrain. Stop/Start System and Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) System : Press twice quickly to open or close the liftgate. Press once to stop the liftgate from moving.
